Dunkin' [donut]

Ah, I see there used to be a cruller in addition to the French cruller. The regular cruller looks like it’s made from a more substantial dough than the light and airy French cruller, too. I guess I never noticed that donut.

By the way, how do you pronounce it? I’ve heard people sound the vowel in the first syllable with either “moo” or “truck”. I never know which one to use, so I default to the latter.

Oh, and Snowboarder Bo is correct. The regular cruller was phased out in 2003, same time as this dunkin’ donut was (another donut I don’t have any memory of.)

That’s exactly right. When they made them in the store you could get fresh donuts all day. Most took away their kitchens in order to put in seating.

That is one ugly donut! Reminds me of Blue Oyster Cult for some reason.

I think the counter girl may have been confused as to the cause and effect.

I spent some time in the Boston area some years back. Noticeably missing were Starbucks Coffee and mom and pop donut shops. If you wanted fufu coffee and\or donuts, you had Dunkin Donuts. I’m certain this has changed some since last I was there.

But DD makes a wonderful powered devil’s food donut.
GAWD!!! I miss donuts!!!

Up here it’s “Cruh-lah”
