# DVD Film Comparison Site?

Are there any sites that review different versions of a film DVD; specifically for the quality of the scanning and sound? And maybe a beginners guide and definitions of what to look for (such as aspect ratio, anamorphic, etc.) I’ve found some comments mixed in with reviews on the Amazon site, but I’m not sure they always know what they are talking about.

Once I was glad to get any version of some films on DVD; now I have an embarassment of riches available to me, and I would like to make sure to get the right version so as to only buy it once. Well, that’s the intent…

The best dvd comparison site around is [DVD Beaver](http://www.dvdbeaver,com) . Extensive visual comparisons with screenshots, as well as audio and extra comparison. I use it all the time.

[dvdbeaver](http://www.dvdbeaver.com/) [fixed link] doesn’t really compare; it just reviews individual discs in great detail. Basically, it chooses great DVDs to fawn over. It doesn’t bother too much discs it wouldn’t recommend. Great site; I love it a lot.

Perfect. Just what I was looking for. I knew I came to the right place. Thanks for the replies.
