I have an older, well-used laptop that has a DVD player. The software is Media Player and cannot play newer DVDs. Is there a software or program anyone can recommend that I can download and install that will work? The easy solution is to just get a new machine but I’d like to try the cheapskate solution first. 😃 Thanks, CedricR. ---

GOM Player. It plays everything, it’s free, and it’s very user friendly. I like it more than VLC Player, which everybody else will recommend (and also plays everything). ---

I would recommend you check out the players [I review at this site.](http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-windows-media-player-replacement.htm) Any one of them will do the job for you.
