How long does it take to burn a full DVD (1 layer) at 1x, 2x, 4x, etc? Thanks.

About 20 - 25 minutes without data checking at 2x. It may be less, since I haven’t burned one in a while.

Thanks. But what’s data checking? Also, would a 4x DVD burner burn twice as fast as a 2x burner?

If I’m not mistaken, DVD-R 1x is the same speed per byte as CD-R 8x. That would make 2x the same speed as 16x, and 4x the same as 32x CD-R speed.

It depends on the speed of your computer, your drive & of course, your media & then the amount of data to write. So a whole lot of variables there.
