Extra cash on hand, & once again contemplating the purchase of new toy…flip open latest Mac catalog to get a sense of where the prices on SCSI or FireWire DVD-RAM devices is falling these days…

Falling, falling, falling right off the pages and into oblivion???

Hey!!! I have a built-in DVD-ROM playback unit in my PowerBook and I sort of figured it would be cool to sort of concatenate the contents of my MP3 CD-ROMs into a couple of DVD-ROMs, make more room in my carry-along CD case, make a backup to leave at home (easier than backing up all those damn CDs)…so what’s the deal here? Has the industry decided there’s no future for DVD as a computer medium?

::stalking off pissed, but not in the mood to buy another Floptical::
