I’ve been playing with it for a fortnight now. I’m enjoying it immensely and I’ve mastered the basics, but I’ve never been able to keep things under control to keep the fortress stable. I either get so many migrants that there’s never enough jobs to do or resources get consumed to fast, or I get frustrated from bloody Kobolds stealing my gear. I usually manage to catch and kill them before they escape the fortress, but there’s blood and guts everywhere that the dwarves simply won’t clean up.

My latest game, I seem to have lined up my dwarves to die of thirst - the last water supply just froze over in winter and all the booze is gone. A caravan has arrived but my fortress has mined nothing but shale and malachite, so they won’t sell me anything!
