This news comes from the city about 5 miles south of me. What is the world coming to? This little girl is dying from Huntington’s Disease, which killed her mother. Her neighbor posts horrific pictures of her on Facebook and so forth to make fun of her. The local Trenton police or sheriff’s office would investigate the facts to determine if there’s a crime, and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office would prosecute if it’s determined that there is, Trenton being in Wayne County. I don’t believe that the Michigan Attorney General’s office would have any conceivable involvement. ---

Wow, this woman’s quite the peach. You can see video of her on [this page](http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/dpp/news/the_edge/dying-girl-taunted-by-neighbors-in-trenton). The good stuff is about 50 seconds into the video. Of course, now that the story is public, apparently a bunch of people with a similar lack of proportion have been making death threats against the woman and her husband. These sorts of incidents are a no-lose situation for the lazy assholes who run local news stations. They get to blow neighborhood disputes out of all proportion, and then, when their own beat-ups lead to public outrage and death threats, they get to cover that, as well as the inevitable apology that comes as a result of all the intimidation. ---

Kudos to **BobLibDem** for his extremely relevant reference, but of the two cases, while both are pretty crappy, I find a great deal more sympathy for the seven year old Huntington’s sufferer than I do for the twenty-one year old university student body president. Child as opposed to adult, dying as opposed to healthy, and most relevant for this discussion, already-had-two-threads vs has-this-current-thread. ---
