I always kind of resented the substantial portion of my brain seemingly devoted to the puerile commercials popular when I was young. What Canadian could forget the wonder of Zoodles animal-shaped noodles (which my parents refused to buy) or the correct order for consuming Smarties? I’m probably not the only one. **What is one of the earliest commercials you can completely remember?**. No doubt it was played a hundred times during your favourite shows… ---

Get Dr. Ross dog food and do him the favor. It’s got more meat, and its got more flavor. Its got more meat to make him feel the way he sho–uld. Dr. Ross dog food is doggone good. Woof! It was a song, so it was easier to remember. It was also animated, and the last two sentences were sung by a Scottish terrier in a deep baritone. ---

The old Home Corporation aluminum siding commercials in Cleveland, mainly due to their jingle (and the fact that they were short - often only 15 seconds). They’re still in business. I remember the LONG version of the “things go better with Coca-Cola” commercial song. And the Winston cigarette jingle from TV (“like a ! ! cigarette should…”). Texaco gas (“You can trust your car to the man who wears the star…”). _Earliest_ though… Doublemint gum. Because I remember asking my mother to explain it.
