We haven’t had an earworm thread in a while, I don’t think, and I’ve been plagued by one for a few days now, so I’m starting a new thread. Earworms, of course, are those tunes that skitter around inside your brain like manic roombas with infinite batteries, circlingcirclingcirclingcircling until you basically feel like taking something blunt and heavy and ominous-looking and SMASH! Anyway, my current one is going to be pretty obscure to anyone but a Broadway afficionado. It’s “Merry Christmas, Maggie Thatcher” from the Broadway adaptation of _Billy Elliott_. (I hope that’s a YouTube video of the song itself…I can only see the Google results from this computer) o/` Oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin' Heseltine! Right now it’s a toss-up between “Fix Up Look Sharp” by Dizzee Rascal (lately it seems to be playing on my gym’s PA system every time I go there) and “Lollipop” by Lil’ Wayne, which I hear at least once every hour at work on account of one coworker of mine always has the hip-hop station playing in her cubicle. On one hand, I have a British guy exhorting me to “Fix up look sharp! (Woo!)” and on the other, Lil’ Wayne wants me to call him so he can “make it juicy” for me. :eek: No, I don’t wanna lick the (w)rapper! ---
