Here in the UK it’s Boxing Day today, a bank holiday and still part of Xmas. I went to buy milk from the supermarket today and yes they have Easter eggs out for sale already. Do they do this as a joke? Or Is there really such a demand for eggs that they can’t wait at least until the new year? ---

What do you mean by “Easter eggs”? Do you mean the coloring kit? The plastic eggs? Or do they actually sell pre-colored eggs in the UK? ---

I assume from \*\*JacobSwan’s \*\*comment that the eggs that he saw were just the hollow chocolate ones, wrapped in coloured foil, that proliferate in supermarkets in the run-up to Easter. And I assume that supermarkets stock them early simply because people must actually buy them. I’ve never heard of colouring kits or plastic eggs. ---

[Easter egg coloring kits](http://www.paaseastereggs.com/) are wildly popular in the U.S. around Easter time. We used to color eggs when I was a kid, and so did everyone else we knew. They’re just food dye that dissolves in water. You dunk the eggs (hard-boiled) in the dye water and color them all kinds of shades. Naturally, you leave the eggs in the shells and just color the shells. If you want to keep the colored shell intact, you can poke pins into the ends of a raw egg and blow out the contents. [Plastic eggs](http://www.funcarnival.com/store/easter-egg-empty.html?gclid=COvpkfL5oK0CFWg0QgodkzzalQ) are simply hollow plastic eggs that have two halves into which you can put small pieces of candy or small toys, whichever is age-appropriate. They’re good for when you have Easter egg hunts and don’t want to let cooked eggs sit around to spoil. ---

I saw Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs display a couple weeks ago in my grocery store. I was torn. On one hand…Yum! Excellent peanut butter to chocolate ratio! On the other hand, can I really buy a candy Easter egg two weeks before Christmas? ---

Good. Easter candy is superior to the candy of all other holidays. All of the superior egg-shaped things should be sold year-round, and Easter should get chocolate Jesuses or something. ---

Stopped at my local 7-11 on the way to my brother’s house for Christmas. You see, he & his wife have this habit of inviting people over for holidays (we tend to rotate the major holiday meals) and make us STARVE until late hours. So we stopped to pick up some snacks for the 2-hour drive. Anyway, I digress. There, on display in the store, right near the cash register, was a HUGE display of Reese’s peanut butter eggs. The store manager was nearby, so I pointed at the display and said, “Already? Really?” His response was that he didn’t want 'em that soon, but they were shipped and so he put them on display. Better to sell them early than to let them go stale in the stockroom. Oh, and I must agree with **C3**. Best peanut butter to chocolate ratio ever. Couldn’t bear to buy 'em yet. Far too soon. ---

If I was King of the World, all Christmas themed items and decorations would be banned until December 1st, and all Easter products until three weeks before Easter. Also Easter would have a consistent date, instead of the random nonsense it is now. Probably April 12th. Long Live the King. ---
