# Easy to Read watch with date?

My dad has early-stage Alzheimer’s, and constantly asks my mom the day and date. I’d like to get him a watch with the day of the week and date that is easy to read, but I’m having trouble finding one. Any help?

PS – sorry if this belongs in another thread, but it seemed more a GQ than anything else.

Fossil has some watches with large digital displays.

If you prefer analog, you might consider a railroad watch. They look like a wrist version of an old alarm clock–white dial with big black numbers.  
The Seiko railroad watch comes with a day/date block.

If you’re looking for portability, then watches seem to have difficulty displaying the day/date in a readable format. [This](http://www.amazon.com/Casio-W800H-1AV-Classic-Digital-Sport/dp/B001AWZDA4/ref=pd_sbs_watch_20) and [this](http://www.amazon.com/Phosphor-DC01-Digital-Calendar-Polyurethane/dp/B002NU6LTO/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=watches&qid=1282233777&sr=1-8) displays both, but it may be unfamiliar enough for your father to keep asking how to read it.

If you can do with a clock, then you can get things like [this](http://www.amazon.com/Dynamic-Living-Oversized-7-5-inch-Calendar/dp/B000Q6UZXU) (although that looks overpriced). Perhaps a travel alarm clock with a calendar would work, if he can remember to keep it with him.

When I saw the thread title, my reaction was:

Worst. Date. Ever.

Hope you find the right watch. Would something like [this Timex](http://www.walmart.com/ip/Timex-Men-s-Classic-Big-Date-Expansion-Band-Watch/13906074) work?
