Especially, you, Mr. Slant! You are my wife’s new bestest friendest!
So, for those of you reading, it was a shirt worn by Billie Piper on the TV show Doctor Who, an shirt/outfit that’s been reproduced in numerous illustrations, dolls, etc… it’s kind of iconic. Kind of.
Good luck! Let us know if you won, and for how much!
Oops late grats!
Now it’s paid for… whew!
Lots of things I’ve never done before… Ebay (well, not in a while), EZ-sniper, paypal (yes, I am officially lame. And proud of it!)
Considering what it went for, my max bid was WAY above and beyond the actual sales price. Damn good thing I didn’t nickel 'n dime it. Damn good thing I didn’t get it for my max bid, either.
(Let’s just say my max bid was a multiple, larger than 3, less than 6, of the final going-for price.)
I really think you should keep a watch on it. I’m always worried that someone is bidding against me because it’s a dishonest seller or whatever - especially when it’s set to private.
Also, it’s sweet you’re doing this for your wife. Good luck.
eta: Head/smack! D’oh! Well, congrats.
eta 2: 1,028.65 ! ! Holy shit. I’m currently selling all my possessions worth anything so I can come up with that to fix a tooth. I need to get married!
Yup. The easy way to do what rickyfowler suggests is a sniping service.
I agree with this.
I try to wait until the last 10 seconds to place my full bid. On occasions when I bid early, that interest seems to draw others, who I suppose might be shills. So I indicate no interest until the last few seconds. I find I get much better prices that way.
Studies have shown that the right interval is 3 seconds.
Seriously, automate this, Second Stone.
