… the Royal Caribbean’s Total Eclipse Cruise have an extra surprise in store for their once-in-a-lifetime viewing experience: Bonnie Tyler, the Welsh songstress of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” fame, will be on board to perform her 1983 hit just as the moon sails across the sun.
That Old Devil Moon

The Moon Is Low

The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Any More
It’s about time for Peggy Lee’s “Is That All There Is?”

No love for Klaus Nomi? Total Eclipse.
Amen! Right up there with Bread’s “If” for saying a lot with a few words! PM me if you’d like to compare notes on the “right music” as a topic.
Yesterday I heard an event playing “Me & Julio Down By The Schoolyard”, presumably for the “Queen of Corona” line. Which was both clever and also stretching things a bit.
That’s been my earworm for the last 20 hours!
Mr. Blue Sky, ELO
Walking on Sunshine, Katrina and the Waves
Sunglasses at Night, Corey Hart (yeah, I’m not proud I know this)
We had a playlist going yesterday. I’ll have to see what else we pulled onto it.
“The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades”
Big love!
They Might Be Giants - “The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas, a Gigantic Nuclear Furnace”
Driving home through NJ yesterday during the eclipse, I heard “Total Eclipse of the Heart” 6 times on the radio, “Black Hole Sun” and “Blinded by the Light” 4 times each, “I Wear My Sunglasses at Night” 3 times, and “Dark Side of the Moon,” “You’re So Vain,” “Moonshadow,” and “Invisible Sun” only once. But it all added to the semi-eclipse experience.
From a local radio station:
Theme from “2001 - a space Odyssey”
followed by: “Age of Aquarius”

Einstürzende Neubauten - Total Eclipse of the Sun
Iron Maiden - Total Eclipse
Pink Floyd - Eclipse
Less directly, songs against the Day Star:
Swans - God Damn the Sun
Velvet Underground - Who Loves the Sun
Band name:
Sunshine Blind
It got more known (at least in Northern California?) in the mid 2000s “hyphy” craze when a song featuring E-40 sampled it. So you’re not the only one.
