I’m not defending the man. I’ll go as far as saying that\*\* He’s lost the respect of most of the SDMB members and should step down.\*\* That said, the “He won’t answer us.” meme has reached a fever pitch. We’ve been told that a clarification on the Pit Rules will be forth coming, after the weekend. So, that’s the last few things he has said. Settle down, _ **relax** _, refine your arguments, stock up on ammunition; I don’t care. I wanted to Fight my own Ignorance on this and I thought I would share.It seems that there is room for consensus and, as the smoke clears we can, collectively, come to a place that we can live with (if not be happy about). I will, humbly, suggest that the tone of the pit since the Rule change is not very different and there has not been a blizzard of Warnings and Bannings. Please don’t kill me. 🙂 ---

If the Straight Dope ever creates a Magna Carta set of rules and hammers it out, is it going to from the Assholes and Dicks Thread. However shall we reference such a monumental and useful thread? The AaDT? It just makes me think of the monologue from _Team America_… ---
