No ravens in Arkansas. Big ol crows, grackles, fish crows. A few blackbirds. And…Edgar Allan. I got out of the shower was brushing my hair. I looked out the window, as I often do at these times(one must keep up appearances, after all). Guess who was outside my window?Actually lifted one wing. I think he’s just taunting me now. (Or waving “hey beck”🫣 ) ---

Ravens and crows are both corvids, sure, but they’re pretty different. Besides being large enough to swoop down and pick up a turtle, ravens make a distinctly unsettling croaking sound (when they’re not saying ‘nevermore’). But I’m glad it’s just a crow. I used to pass a flock of crows every day on my walk, and I’d yell ‘hello’ at them hoping they’d say it back, but in retrospect it would have been too creepy. ---
