[Edited title: Is caffeine bad for you?]

Dseid, could you locate this artice for me please, when you have the time? I am struggling to find it. Thanks

This one already linked, section 6.0. Links to the studies they cite are there as well.

That’s the only study on there, that I have found, that mentions whether tolerance is effected by dose and timing of dose. It doesn’t give any concrete numbers though.

I have looked at more recent studies from the past 3 years:

[/ul]Complete tolerance stops caffeine decreasing blood flow to the brain. Source

[ul]
[/ul]Increased alertness is withdrawal reversal. Source

[ul]
[/ul]Improves selective attention and memory - Source

[/ul]No tolerance to physiological effects were demonstrated. This study claims to “provide the most rigorous demonstration to date”. I don’t know how true this is though. - Source

I got it even worse than that. Fresh out of college, I consumed a lot of caffeine every day. Three or four cups of coffee and three or four Cokes, which is a lot for a 130 pound guy. It took me a long time to figure out that lack of caffeine was making me sick on occasion. About once a year for about eight years, I would not have caffeine. In the middle of the afternoon, I would start to get a severe headache. I would lose my appetite. If I ate anything, I would vomit it back up a short time later. If I didn’t eat anything, I would vomit anyway. Not fun times.

A recent study indicates that heavy caffeine use may ward off depression in women: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/27/us-coffee-depression-idUSTRE78Q3GK20110927
