Sometimes, when I go to delete a botched post in Facebook (FB), it will actually allow me to edit my post! But, this has only happened twice…not enough to notice when this is happening. Perhaps some SDoper knows the magic secret to editing your own FB posts?

I think it’s on a time limit, like here on the SDMB. I’ve noticed it a few times as well but only on posts that are either fairly new or that have had no comments.

This, I believe. And of course you can always delete and re-post anytime. One of the good things about FB is almost nothing you put on it is set in stone.

I’ve noticed this particularly when posting on an ipad (not from an app, from safari) I click to delete a botched comment, but instead it goes back to an editable box.

just tested it. Didn’t work with a status update, but it did with a comment. I made a comment then clicked to remove it and it presented me with the edit box… and I edited it.

Thanks, all! I just wish this “edit” feature wasn’t so covert!
