Jeep Cherokees / Grand Cherokees are the 3rd or 4th most stolen vehicles in the country. Not only do they have flimsy steering columns (which the manufacturer doesn’t seem enthused to address) there is a hot market for parts. **Beeblebrox** I’m very glad that you got your Jeep back. But please get yourself some kind of anti-theft protection, huh? 🙂 ---

_GROAN_ The towing company lied to me. Last night they said all that was wrong was a broken window and a broken steering column. They didn’t mention the dash… or the front bumper… or the radiator… or the hood… or the left front corner panel. Honestly, who the fuck steals a corner panel? It had to be that the thief was filling an order for somebody and took specific parts. Why else would you take the goddamn hood and front bumper, but leave all four wheels? I really don’t need this shit this week. ---

Truly crappy news, **beeb** , that sounds like a pretty standard ATL shop ‘n’ chop. From the locations of the theft and recovery, they probably drove right by my house on the way. I know a couple of boneyards in the area, if you care to DIY. I’ll shoot you an email shortly. **pbrtallboy** , I suspect you and I are pretty close neighbors… I’ll try your email link too, maybe we can drag **beeblebrox** over to the Clermont and make him forget his troubles. I’m going to install a cut-off switch under my dash this weekend. This could have been me. ---
