No, I’ve pretty much covered it all. I’ve explained how the black vote would not show up for her, and I’ve explained why white women didn’t either, abortion was not the factor that you all thought it would be, and I explained why. People took offense so I was regulated to The Pit, but I’ve been covering this for years now. ---

MY explanation (not peanut butter split) is boy \> girl, headlines and YouTube commentary are all many people need to make a decision for their next four years of life in the US. Each potential baby might be Christ II, gays made a bad choice… The dumbass single-issue voters are almost endless. ---

At the end of the day, white women have made it clear that they don’t care about controlling their bodies. The care about the keeping the hierarchy of society for their sons. Just as I said they would do. They don’t care that they are at the bottom of that society, they just know that they are above any brown people here in the US. That is what they voted for today, they were never going to vote against their husbands, and it was a bad message to think they would. ---

If a little general kvetching — election related — can be allowed: Liberal Substack is a smoking crater right now. The sites I’ve followed went dark all at once. Earlier in the night … some mighty disillusioned people were left to yelling on Chris Bouzy’s virtual doorstep. His political prognostication career is likely done. ---

I think the dirty secret about abortion in the US is that there will always be exceptions for certain Republican women who need or want abortions. They do not need to fight to keep this right because they were never in danger of losing it in the first place. They don’t care if it gets taken away from _others_. They are only ever one phone call away from a private clinic where it will be discreetly taken care of, no questions asked. ---

Thanks for the link. We aren’t entirely serious…yet. But, we are looking for post retirement opportunities in other countries that do things like Peace Corps (we’ve both done that). We’d love to move to a country we can contribute to. ---

Well yes, it’s part of white supremacy. They don’t actually care about the babies; they are just looking at numbers. I think it was a mistake to pin our hopes on white women as Harris tried to do. I said that years ago. I was totally right of course. I’m sorry to keep saying that but I went through a lot of shit on this board speaking on these topics, to the point they wanted to ban me. I wish I was wrong, but I knew I was not. ---

@Smapti, I really have to commend you. On this thread, many other political threads—especially the Is Trump Confused thread— you remind me of Atticus Finch. The toughest protagonist in my opinion in film. You lay it out, simple, this orange turd is stupid, senile, etc. Then the verdict comes. I am so sorry for all this crap in our country, and how it affects our neighbors and allies. I’m getting more scotch. ---
