> Well, SoS Hobbs just said 173k ballots state wide are still out, and 92k of those in Maricopa (not the 70k I assumed based on previous reporting).

If we go with your previous numnbers (just for the sake of argument) then Trump has a 10%(ish…rounding to make it easy) advantage in the current votes. IF that held, and there are 173,000 votes left Trump would advance by 17,300 votes. A little more than half his 30k deficit.

And that assumes all those provisional ballots are counted as legit.

Again, Trump has run out of room. He is done barring some dramatic shift in trends.

Rough math in my head, Donald needs just about 60% of those 173k outstanding. He’s been coming up just short of that in previous dumps but, Jeebus, it’s gonna be close at the end. Maybe Georgia close.

Totally agree. Confirmations from the networks and news sources are a positive because they have teams of professional mathematicians, armed with technology and big data, whose number 1 job is to not get it wrong. What’s troubling is when some of them confirm something 48 hours ago, but the others aren’t willing to.

I’m not sure I saw this upthread – news from Nevada, from about an hour ago, as per [WaPo](https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2020/11/06/trump-biden-election-live-updates/#link-SMSFCNFG5RBELMNURGUMDU372M):

> [@](#):
>
> A federal judge in Nevada on Friday swiftly rejected Republicans’ request to intervene in the counting of ballots in Clark County, finding that they had provided little-to-no evidence that the county’s procedures violated state law or had caused harm.
>
> The plaintiffs — two GOP congressional candidates, a voter and a person described as a credentialed member of the media — made much the same arguments that the Nevada Republican Party and Trump campaign made unsuccessfully in state courts in recent days.
>
> They argued that Clark County has been illegally using a machine to verify signatures on some mail ballots and illegally preventing “meaningful” access to observation of ballot-counting. They asked Judge Andrew P. Gordon to step in and require the county to allow observers to get closer to election workers, and they asked him to require all remaining ballots to be manually reviewed — a mandate that would undoubtedly slow down an already slow count to determine the winner of Nevada’s six electoral college votes.
>
> Gordon was skeptical of their argument from the start of a two-hour hearing Friday, pointing to an opinion by Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh in which he discouraged district judges from interfering with legislatures’ decisions about election administration.
>
> “You’re asking me, it seems, to ignore Justice Kavanaugh’s direction,” Gordon told lawyer David O’Mara, who also represented the Trump campaign and the Nevada GOP in their state lawsuits.

Everyone can see where this is going. Biden, the media, us. But Biden is determined to follow protocol. I’m glad he is. It would be nice to have it called, but it’s only another day or two.

Whenever it is called and agreed upon by the major networks, it will help legitimize the election across the country. Biden isn’t going to get over his skis on this. Frankly, I’ll enjoy that champagne more over the weekend anyway!

Looks like Biden is going to make some remarks tonight. I’m sure he is going to call for patience and calm as we finish this process in a stately manner.

In other news, sounds like Trump’s people are breaking it to him that he’s not going to win this election and he needs to prepare for that. Whatever that means. I’m afraid to find out.

I am not kidding. I cannot imagine Trump wanting to stay in the US after he is out of office. There are a slew of legal actions waiting for him.

> The point is that he can’t put in anyone he wants as “acting head” – under the law there is a very small pool of people who are eligible to be named as Acting Secretaries. And these are people who have been Senate confirmed to other positions (e.g. an Under Secretary who was confirmed by the Senate could be named Acting Secretary) or senior-level career civil servants (e.g. Dr. Anthony Fauci).

I think that about 35k of the outstanding ballots are from Pima, Apache, and Santa Cruz counties - all of which are much bluer than Maricopa. Last dump I saw from Pima increased Biden’s lead.

One idea that I’ve seen floated is that, under the Constitution, the President may be able to force the Senate into an adjournment. The procedure is a little complicated and it would require the connivance of the House, but if he can force the Senate to adjourn for greater than 10 days then he can make a recess appointment to any executive or judicial vacancy. Such appointment would only last until the end of the current session of Congress, after which hopefully Democrats would pick up the necessary seats in the Senate to confirm them to regular terms of office.

I would remind the White House that Canada has closed its border with the United States and we have an excellent Canada-US Extradition Treaty.

Just to cross that option off the list …

Here’s why networks calling it matters to me. Four years ago, I told myself to fight the good fight so in four years, we could escape this nightmare. It’s been a very long, grueling, emotionally arduous four years. I feel like I’m in prison and waiting to hear if I get parole or not, and every day, I’m told, “Later today” and then “Maybe tomorrow.” My blood pressure is up. I’m not sleeping well. When the stakes are this high, chilling is impossible.

I know the networks’ calls aren’t official. I know it’s important to do this right. But way too much rides on this for me not to be chomping at the bit. The fact said chomping doesn’t hurry anything is beside the point. I need for this to be over. Unofficially over will do until it’s officially done.

Can’t we just make sure to push turnout enough in Georgia to fill those 2 Senate seats with Dems? We’ve got great candidates!! We don’t _have_ to accept McConnell as Majority Leader!!
