Iā€™m kind of wondering why we even bother to have a nationwide presidential election. We could instead just concede that certain states will go red and others will go blue and just have campaigning and an election in the few swing states. I really would like to see an end to the electoral college. ---

No one should be counting on Democratic pickups in the 2022 Senate races. The Presidentā€™s party invariably looses seats in the midterms after taking office. (Of course, this assumes than Biden pulls out the victory.) ---

It seems in Wisconsin 1% is the threshold for a recount and it is not automatic. The candidate has to request it and has to pay for it unless they win the recount. [SOURCE](https://ballotpedia.org/Recount_laws_in_Wisconsin) ---

So letā€™s see if I understand how things look right now: 1. Biden _seems_ somewhat likely to get 270 by a razor-thin margin 2. If #1 is true, trumpā€™s army of lawyers get to work immediately, trying to invalidate anything close in any state that went to Biden. 3. Recounts, recounts, recounts. 4. Maybe no ā€œofficialā€ call for President for weeks. 5. Might even end up in SCOTUS, where ACB is gleefully rubbing her hands together, waiting for her first ruling as a Supreme. Looks like a long November. ---

It is entirely relevant to the US because as youā€™re demonstrating so aptly theyā€™re painted as ā€œfar-leftā€ or the ā€œradical leftā€ via Republican lies and propaganda. If Americans were not so ignorant of the political spectrum, and keep confusing social democracy with market socialism, authoritarian socialism or communism, it would probably greatly help political discourse in the USA. ---

As I was schooled on earlier in this thread if it goes to the House each state gets one vote. There are more red states. Has nothing to do with population. So, Wyoming with 550,000 people gets the same say as California with about 40 million people. ---
