# Electricity 220 vs 110

I live in Europe where the electricity is 220. To use my electric curlers from the states I have to use a transformer for 110. OK. If I want to take my European appliances back to the states, such as this really cool desk lamp, how can I change them or gut them to work on 110? Do I always have to use a transformer both ways?
