[Looking at these devices](http://www.vivo.colostate.edu/hbooks/pathphys/reprod/semeneval/collection.html) and the unpleasant procedures involved, I’m rethinking how cushy a life people assume animals have when they are “put out to stud”.

Dude, there are people who do this kind of thing to _themselves._ I can’t post a link as I’m at work, but try googling “E-Stimming” or “Electro-stimulation” and prepare to be shocked, so to speak.

Unless, of course, you’re talking about thoroughbred race horses. “Live cover” is required in order to be sure the mare is really getting in on with the champion.
