I just have gotten a new Dell XPS work-station, and the moment I plug in my headphones, there is a static noise in the background. It’s grating.

There is no printer, cabling or such nearby. Is there anything I can do about it? Or do I need better headphones?

(Oh yah, it has a RealTek on-board sound card).
