[Ellen To Host Oscars](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/television/brief_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003118688) Even though the story is already kind of old, I did a quick search and didn’t see any threads on this. I think she will do a great job…(personally, I have always wanted to see Bette Midler host)…but Ellen has already done the job for the Emmy’s and was good. ---

I’ve never found her to be particularly amusing. Her delivery is. . .odd. . .and most of her material barely rates a chuckle. The bits I’ve seen of her network show are just annoying. Guess I’ll be skipping it. ---

I was on a plane-flight where they were playing some of her old stand-up on the radio-armrest thingy. I thought it was pretty funny. ---

I like her very much but think she will bomb big time at this gig. I just can’t see her in the role. ---

Ellen cracks me up and I’m looking forward to seeing her as host. I like twickster’s comparison of her to Stephen Wright, but she also has her own style. I especially like when she winds up weaving random bits of pop culture into her stories, because my brain works like that too. For example: > [@Ellen](#): > > I was in yoga the other day.
