As I read it, there’s no lottery involved (since it is a planned, not random giveaway) so the specific lawsuit is null, but now there’s a case for fraud for all the people who participated. Although I bet the language as written includes a lot of disclaimers buried in the fine print.
So a massive grift. The data collected is probably worth many times what Elon paid and will be sold over and over and over again.
Thr million dollars a day is chump change for Musk. The bigger money is the who-knows-how-many $47, $100 and $200 payments. One of Musk’s lawyers said yesterday that they need to send out 18,000 checks for Philadelphia County alone, of which 8,000 will supposedly go out today. One might guess that half of these should be $100 checks, and half $200. I am also thinking that the take up rate, on the online offer, in Philadelphia County, was lower than elsewhere due to most people being Democrats. Projecting to all the swing states, I am guesstimating that Musk is supposed to pay out at least a hundred million.
I haven’t followed this closely. But why would anyone give something (their personal information) unless the prizes were given randomly? I.e., that there was a chance they’d win something?
Re last post, Musk’s PAC owes my wife and I $200 each. Nothing random about it. And I’m thinking there’s a good five percent chance we’ll get it.
Like many others, I have received multiple warning letters from businesses saying they that not only my name, address, and email has been hacked, but also info I did not give Musk (account numbers, social security number). Our land line phone number has always been listed.
If the info I gave Musk (name, snailmail address, one of my email addresses, maybe our phone number that has a strong challenge if you are not on the accepted caller list, and the fact that I support the Bill of Rights) is of monetary value, someone please private message me how I can sell these valuables.
My wife and I today each received, and mobile-deposited, $100 checks from the “United States of America Inc.” in San Mateo California (on the check) or Austin Texas (on the envelope). You can’t make this stuff up.
The check also reads “MEMO America PAC Petition,” so Musk came through with the promised base payment. We also were supposed to get a $100 each referral fee, but no biggie. I think that a Trumpworld supplier, who gets 50 percent of what they are owed, is doing well.
Bringing her total to the correct $200, my wife Barbara got her $100 check today for referring our daughter.
I am still due my extra $100 for referring Barbara, but suspect that patience will be rewarded. Say whatever you want about Trump and Musk, but of the two, Musk looks to pay more debts.
We plan to turn this around as a donation to one of the legal defense funds for Trump’s victims, once we see which fund seems the most reliable/mainstream.
As of today, January 30, 2025, we have still only received one of the two promised referral payments.
So Elon Musk promised my household $500 and we received $400. Considering the source, I find this an outstanding result.
Anyone considering the Trump/Musk federal employee resignation incentive may want to reflect on our experience. There’s an excellent chance you’ll get something, but do not count on it for your rent money.
Taking the petition wording literally, I think I would be, if a Wisconsinite, justified in picking up some more of Mr. Musk’s money. It is the conservative judges who are more likely to disregard precedent AKA be activist.
Do not be afraid that your mailbox will be filled with GOP propaganda. Mine is not. Neither have we gotten phone calls. They want contributors, not freeloaders like me.
