I’ve only started about ten threads during my ten years here, and one of them was simply to express my appreciation for elucidator’s wit. That was about seven years ago, IIRC. **Elucidator** is one of my very favorite posters at SDMB. His insightful posts often distill an intelligent conclusion into a short pithy paragraph. His jokes make me laugh. Often he combines great humor and intelligent opinion into a single post. I’ve thought of creating a webpage: _Sayings of Sergeant Luci_. Now it’s true that **Elucidator** and I both caucus on the normal-amygdala side of the aisle. A quick search on OP’s posts suggests he may be more comfortable with the bloated-amygdala types. So let’s do a simple experiment. I nominate **Elucidator** as the most humorous intelligent Doper from “my side of the aisle.” Who would the bloated amygdalas nominate for their intelligent Twain-like champion? Obviously there’s a good chance I won’t find their nominee amusing, but we’ll have the two nominees available for comparison by any “objective” observers. ---

As much as I love a good putdown, I hate to tell you that you still have to send electrons to the disk, and it uses electrons to move those tiny magnets. Those electrons are not “wasted”. I assure you they are still in circulation, even as we speak. By saying hard drives waste electrons, he clearly implied they were taken out of circulation to “hold data” or some such. As to the rest of your post, grow the fuck up.
