# Email to phone question

Hi, I’m just wondering why it takes 30-40min for an email sent from hotmail to arrive on my blackberry? Is there a technical reason or doest hotmail just suck?

Server lag can cause any information transferred anywhere to take up to 15 minutes to get there. If anybody cut corners along the way to get a cheaper service, that’s going to add some time. I know people who would be happy getting an email in the same hour in which it was sent.

If it isn’t able to “push” new emails to your device, then you’re at the mercy of how frequently it checks the email server for new messages.
