i have clicked no to email advice to answers to posts they are still coming through does it take some time for the instructions to take effect please:) ---

The system will continue to send you email notices until the end of time on the old threads where email notif. _had_ been set. Any new threads you post to will not have emails. This is of course a really “peculiar” behavior of the system and all you can hope for is that the old threads eventually will get no new posts. ---

Are you subscribed to any threads? Check your user cp to see, and then delete any subscriptions you don’t want, since that could be whats sending you emails. Also, this thread should be in ATMB since it is About This Message Board. General Questions is really a place for questions that have factual answers that you’d like someone to help you find. Just a word of advice, I know you’re new here, but it makes this board run a lot better if threads are in the right forums - go to the main page and read the forum descriptions, and learn what should be posted where. Also, correct punctuation and spelling is really appreciated here. ---

Since this is a question about this message board, I’ll move this thread to ATMB. You will continue to recevie e-mail notifications from threads you posted to before changing the settings. When those threads die down, the notifications will too. If you avoid visiting the threads in question, you _should_ get just one notification (but some users have complained that it doesn’t always work that way). If you continue to visit the thread, you may get one notification after each visit. If you post to a thread again, making sure that the e-mail notification box is unchecked, that should end notifications for that thread.
