Read thread title as “Employer won’t pay for time travel. WTF”. I’m blaming the wine I had, but I also think that this would be a more interesting situation to be in. I mean WTF, if time travel IS available why WON’T my employer pay for it? Don’t they realize it would benefit EVERYONE!?!?
When I worked in the television industry, travel time was not billable unless it was an on location shoot. Then we could bill certain amounts that the station deemed “fair” (which they always were IMHO)
But you have to be the judge on the situation. Would I throw a fuss not getting paid for a 15 minute commute? Absolutely not.
Would I say something if I had to commute 3 hours each way? You bet!
Because it happened three years ago?
