IANANutritionalist (and sorry to hijack the thread) but I have heard several times from different sources that eating only once per day is actually worse than eating more food but spread out through the day.
The way it was explaned to me is that if you go too long between meals (and “too long” in this case could be as little as 6-8 hours!) then your body goes into “starvation mode”. When you do eat, your body stores more as fat than it would normally since it “thinks” food is scarce.
The suggestion was instead of eating one big meal to eat a “snack” every couple of hours.
Again, IANANutritionalist and I’m sure someone will come along and correct me if I am completely off, but you might try that and see if it makes a difference.
