Well maybe, if he had a booth set up in the hallway complete with a huge fancy banner that said “Get-yer-quality-crack-sold-here!”

In other words my guy had a booth and a fancy display set up in the mall. 😉

Call in to the radio show and tell the man that ‘gullible’ is not to be found in any dictionary in America. Ten to one he’s still repeating it a year from now.

It’s sometimes difficult to tell if someone is skilled at trolling or is merely stupid. Luckily, I no longer care to make the (largely illusory) distinction.

“Texas” hasn’t banned any encyclopedia. Britannica is readily available at any library in Austin, and in all likelihood, at almost every library in the state.

Now, is it possible that some school somewhere in the state threw out its entire Britannica collection because of one objectionable passage? Who knows? There are some loonies out there, and I can’t swear that it’s never happened in SOME school.

But I can vouch that

1. There’s no statewide ban, and

2. In a town as liberal as Austin, I’d never hear the end of it from liberal friends if this had really happened.

So, I’m incolined to say it’s a crock.

Here’s a counter-idea. Post some horrible slander about Kojo Nnamdi either here or on some other website. Have somebody copy/paste that into an email to send to Kojo Nnamdi informing Kojo Nnamdi that this must be true because it’s on the internet. Better yet, send it to Kojo Nnamdi’s competition.

Would that work?

Somehow I get the feeling I should be very afraid of the consequences of using my Google-Fu for such nefavious purposes.

Is no one standing up for Kojo? Don’t get me wrong, Kojo fucks up now and then–and this is definitely a now. But he’s not stupid. Boring and inane, maybe, but I expect better from him. I mean, he does try to discuss things no one in their right mind would do a radio show about–like local DC politics. Just like C-Span and PBS, even if I couldn’t be bothered to pay attention, I felt vaguely better that **somebody** was interested. I always felt like Kojo was boring so I didn’t have to be. Surely that counts for something!

Did you send an email, **FairyChatMom**? I’m curious how (and whether) he responds.
