Don’t things like the right to counsel, the right to habeus corpus, the right to a speedy and public trial, the right to confront witnesses, etc only apply to people being detained on criminal charges? Prisoners of war don’t have these rights so they’re not automatic for every detainee. This law is creating a new category of detainees with no pre-existing rights. They’re not going to be entitled to the rights of criminal detainees or POW detainees.
