If the U.K. hadn’t have done what they did then Icelandic customers would have received back their deposits in Icelandic banks,which I think is perfectly fair but also more then a billion Pounds Sterling belonging to British depositors would have effectively disappeared. Leaving a lot of British depositors penniless. ---

Then again, we are talking about America, and British PMs are traditionally America’s poodles. So he probably would have growled fiercely, or perhaps whimpered like a dog might do if you leave the food bowl empty too long. ---
