He doesn’t like ‘whilst’ but his nick is ‘Shagnasty’ ?
‘Shag nasty’ (two words, dear chap), unless I’m very much mistaken, is a colloquialism also from these Isles. I’ll concede the phrase may not appear in the King James version with any regularity ( ), but your position does appear to be a tad undermined.
Erm, wasn’t Shagnasty just having a go at the pointlessness of the bmerton thread he linked to?
The bmerton thread was a rant about American use of the English language. It seems that Shagnasty was just returning in kind: if bmerton doesn’t want Americans to use their language, then bmerton had better stop using his English phrases.
Jeez, you people are quick to condemn. Bites all round from young James.
bmerton’s was not in the Pit - it was framed as a serious question.
Shagnasty’s thread here is in the vein as Libertarian’s “posting in the style of someone who said something stupid” threads. They made me laugh, so did this one.
Don’t make me re-sharpen my teeth and bite you again.
[sub]Of course, I could be wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time[/sub]
