Not sure if this belongs in here or in General questions, but here goes:
I was listening to BBC podcasts as usual this morning, and was wondering: are there any similar programs that cover regional/world news from the perspective of any of the South American countries? (Since, pardon the ignorance, 've absolutely no clue as to what goes on there, other than that recent Brazilian oil field auction).

English is one of the official languages of Guyana.

Guyana, however, seems to be much more culturally akin to the Caribbean than the rest of South America, mon.

I sometimes read [Colombia Reports](http://colombiareports.co/) for some news from that corner of South America. I’m not sure if there are similar sites for other SA countries.

[Onlinenewspapers.com](http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/) collects newspaper websites from around the world, by region and country, and it notes which ones are in English.

Looks like Argentina has an [English language paper](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buenos_Aires_Herald), [The Buenos Aires Herald](http://www.buenosairesherald.com/). I’ve never picked it up, but it looks like it earned a strong reputation for reporting in defiance of the military dictatorship back in the late 70s to early 80s.

[The Rio Times](http://riotimesonline.com) offers [news in English](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rio_Times) from one of Brazil’s largest cities.

English language news from Chile at [I Love Chile](http://www.ilovechile.cl/) seems, on first glance, to not be quite so hard hitting.
