Yes, I mispelled clueless. I had to in order for the title to fit. I wanted to link a past post about how ribald engligh slang gets prime-time coverage in the U.S., but I am currently lazy. Maybe later tonight.

With the permeation of the american media in foregn countries, I would think that the Brits would know what is odd about [this link](http://www.mrbrainsfaggots.com/faggot_family.htm). Or maybe not, it does not get said on TV much.

Oh, this is rich. I haven’t even read past the first paragraph and this is already said:

_, Mr Brain’s search was for ‘real faces’ - an ordinary family who loves and eats faggots on a regular basis. Mr. Brain’s wanted real people with real lives to be at the heart of the campaign. The essential ingredient? Each member of the family must be fanatical about faggots._

Now I am a live-and-let-live kind of guy. But a family where each member is not just tolerant, or even accomodating, but fanatical about “faggots,” is just plain weird. If they truly were that fanatical, they would certainly not use such a word to describe that lifestyle approach.

Now I have heard that it can be british for a cigeratte. The dictionary also says it means a bundle of sticks. From what I see on this website, it also refers to some kind of food.

I am sure that SOME of you Brits know well what this word means to americans, but this family must live well away from the big cities.

Sorry, maybe it’s just the drugs, but what exactly are you complaining about? That people in other countries have different definitions of words than we do? That we don’t censor nuaghty foreign slang? That British people who like cheap sausage hate gay people? I can’t figure out how any of those paragraphs relate to any of the other paragraphs in the post.

I would be very surprised to find a Brit (or an Irish person - Irish people are not British, except in northern-ireland) who doesn’t know the American meaning of ‘Fag’ or ‘Faggot’.

I expect in Brits the knowledge of the word splits equally between cigarette and gay person, and about 1 or 2 percent ‘Irish meat product’.
Let me re-iterate **Irish people are not British** The republic of Ireland is not part of the UK or Britain.

**Road Rash** is annoyed that the families in that link are apparently oblivious to the American meaning of ‘faggot’
Correct me if I am incorrect.

[Each member of the family must be fanatical about faggots.]

I wish to point out that one need look no further than the Phelps family of Wichita, KS.

I am more laughing my ass off than complaining. If I were truly complaining, I would pit this thread. I think the company is just a little bit aware of the meaning, and having some fun from this page:[http://www.mrbrainsfaggots.com/faggot\_fanatics.asp](http://www.mrbrainsfaggots.com/faggot_fanatics.asp).

Quote: “Do you dare to eat Mr Brain’s Pork Faggots in a famous public place? DON’T BE SHY, send in a photograph, along with your name, address, email address and become a member of our Faggot Photo Gallery.”

I tried playing the TV ads. I have Quicktime installed, but I got an error reading.

Kind of like saying “come out of the closet and bee seen eating faggots.”

Who says they _aren’t_ aware of it? I know the meaning of the British terrm “bloody” but that doesn’t stop me from ordering a bloody rare steak. Weak example, but you get my meaning.

So Mr. Brain can go to a popular gay bar with samples and ask the patrons, “You want to eat my pork balls?”😃

When my dad was in the Occupation, to light up a fag meant smoking. Now it’s a hate crime. Differnt time, different place. Doesn’t mean I’m unaware of either meaning, though.

The pork thing, however, was new to me.

And of course, pork…? Sometimes, it’s a verb.
