Actually, it was metaphor. Way back yonder in high school, I got laid to a Bryan Adams song. I think it was “Heaven.” I’m pretty sure I got laid, but back in the dark days, anything might have happened. \ ---

We didn’t redo “Minefield” even though I revived it. Hmph. Speaking of which, I saw it. Really heavy handed but it had ROMULANS~! in badass BIRDS OF PREY~! in it so I can deal with its hamfistedness. Things I liked: ROMULANS~!, BADASS BIRDS OF PREY~!, the ROMULAN~! language being spoken on screen, and… uh… well. Everything else sorta blends together. Things I didn’t like: Hoshi gettin’ hurt. That was almost enough for me to hate the ROMULANS~!. Speaking of the pointy eared badasses, wasn’t the cloaking device relatively new in “Balance of Terror” or was it just an upgrade or what? T’Pol should have totally had a look of shock on her face when Hoshi said that the “Roomulan Star Empire” had annexed the planet and then clammed up immediately instead of correcting her pronunciation. Like the Vulcans don’t know that the Rommies aren’t their cousins. Idiot. Reed’s attempted suicide. What the hell? Idiot. Archer not busting him down to crewman. Idiot. And finally, the totally unbelievable interstellar surfing that the two male idiots did at the end to save their hides. That’s more contrived than the plan **NCB** hatched to lose his virginity! I still liked it though. ROMULANS~! 😃 (I still want it on tape too, **viva**. Those ships were swank.) ---

Aesiron, you might want to reconsider that. I’m not so sure about Reed’s, er, orientation. You know how every couple of years during the Cold War a couple of Brits would go skipping of to Mother Russia, hand in hand with a briefcase full of money? And a Royal Navy guy who’s afraid of the water? He’s a wimp at best. Blowing things up and making loud noises is some form of compensation, if you ask me. ---

Okay, let’s look at who else I could be: Archer: Handicapped, obviously. The 22nd Century is ultra-PC though, so he got a ship. T’Pol: Schizophrenic, so annoying that her own species stuck her on a ship full of monkeys. Hoshi: I’d be her but I’d die. Remember that experiment with the rats and the pleasure inducing wires in their brain? Yeah… that’d be me in Hoshi’s body. Trip: You being from Arkansas, I’m sure you know what I mean when I say I’m not so sure his family tree forks. Travis: Mute. I don’t know sign language. Phlox: Okay, he’s kinda cool and practices polygamy. Huh… should’ve picked him. But I’m not all that talkative in person and I’m definitly not a people person. And finally, Reed: Arrogant? Check. Stoic? Check. Aloof? Check. Likes blowing stuff up? Check. Can’t swim and is afraid of drowning? Check. ---
