I tried watching B5 once. The cheesy CGI annoyed me and I turned it off after about five minutes. ---

It was _so_ obviously fake. It was like watching an old TNG episode; “Conspiracy” or something. ---

Well at least, unlike the old TNG episode “Conspiracy,” you never saw anyone on _Babylon 5_ **dodge a phaser beam while it was in the air coming at them!** (Light speed in the _Trek_ universe must be really slow to be able to accomplish **that** feat!) ---

I started to watch B5 again and was turned off by the CGI ships landing like Buck Rogers, the beard, the bald and earlier Garibaldi being alcoholic. I wish I could have hung in there, though. Who dodges a phaser beam when? ---

I only saw bits of _Babylon 5_ as well, and I have to agree about the cheesy CGI. The exterior shots looked like a Starcraft cut scene or a [digitalblasphemy.com](http://digitalblasphemy.com) print. But I wouldn’t hold that against them - lots of good shows have had bad special effects. ---

I figured out why they don’t let them read. If the Congenitors could read, they’d form a union. Since they are necessary for reproduction, they would soon be the ruling class. They would send out squads at births (hey, they know when everyone became pregnant!) to collect their young. Another point; what would a couple’s feelings about giving birth to a cogenitor be? ---

Hey, that’s a really good question, **carni**. Would they be thrilled to have created this being that is so special, and can act as the only means of continuing their species? Or would they be disappointed, because they could never live vicariously through their kid (as so many people do); teaching it music and figure skating, and dreaming up a grand future for it? After all, a baby Cogenitor’s future is pretty much figured to be set in stone, and maybe that’s a bad thing to parents. Also, what’s a cogenitor’s childhood like? Does its parents get to raise it, and if so, do they treat it as an object, just as its future mating couple will? Does anyone LOVE a cogenitor? Man, that was a lot of questions. It just got me thinkin’ is all. And for me, it seems like thinking only results in a lot of questions, never any answers. ---

And another question…If you enjoy the Congenitor part of ‘doing it’ are you a pervert? Is there a special porno variety that involves cogenitors? Are there really really sick individuals that ‘do it’ with only a congenitor? ---
