Nope, this is the last season. He explicitly stated his message was going out on all subspace channels, which means it would travel faster than lightspeed. 2. He fired the beam from the surface of Mars at Earth’s Moon (Luna). The minimum distance between the two bodies is still several light-minutes. ---

The difference in time between radio and the beam would have the difference traveled from mars to earth amd mars to moon. ---

Maybe the Enterprise only extrapolated the beam’s direction, and the CGI was shown as it happened minutes later. Dramatic license. ---

I was just looking at the TATV spoilers and pics for the franchise finale. Man, Riker is definitely back in his fat period. No wonder he’s playing Chef in the holo-re-creation. ---

Once Enterprise is done, I’d strongly suggest checking out the fan-produced [http://www.hiddenfrontier.com](http://www.hiddenfrontier.com) . It’s technical aspects are surprisingly good, though it does have some bad dialogue. ---
