We don’t know if said radio signal was originally aimed at some kind of comm buoy or not, but even if it was, that early comm buoy wouldn’t have had subspace communication capability either. ---

Stuff I want to see: –Archer and Trip get into a fight over something and it _doesn’t_ get resolved within 50 minutes. –Phlox makes a terrible mistake during surgery, the patient is harmed by it, and it goes on the doc’s permanent record. –Hoshi and Travis fall in love but can’t stop squabbling. And so on. And let the arcs of disharmony play themselves out for half a season. But maybe that involves daring, which is probably why we won’t see it. ---

Work hated Bashir and Quark; Qurak and Odo had some strange love hate thing; Garak was despised by all except Bashir, which had to make him feel _really_ strange. Worf and Sisco had come competion thing going.(maybe the actors had too). The new Dax, whatever her name was, had a triangle thing with Worf and Bashir. Colin Meany (I forget the character’s name) went from despising Bashir to being pals. ---

Then there’s Rom, Winn Adami, Shakaar, Nog, Morn, Leeta, Zek, Moogie, Brunt, Dukat, Ziyal, Damar, Weyoun, Martok, the Founder, Admiral Ross, and so many other supporting characters that we know more about than we do Sulu, Chekov, Uhura, and Travis.
