But they just keep annoying me with pointless stories that run and jump around a lot without actually accomplishing anything.

While I didn’t hate this episode, I have to agree with this to some extent. (This episode was definitely weaker than last week’s installment). Like **Corner Case** , I didn’t find the “twist” to be that obvious – I certainly had not guessed in advance that the Vulcans were having reactions to the material that ships needed for insulation from the anomalies. I found that to be a good plot development. In fact, before this, I was a bit annoyed thinking that the Vulcan-ship-going-nutso at the end of last season was just a throwaway idea to illustrate to us that the Doofus Expanse (heh heh, Monstred that one…) is a CreepyWeirdBadPlace[sup]TM[/sup], but that we would be left with inconsistency, since it never happened to anybody else. Well, now we have an explanation for it. This makes Monstre happy.

What made Monstre _unhappy_ about this episode was… too much running and jumping around without moving the story along. Specifically, it felt like half the episode was just crew wandering down corridors and getting jumped at by Wacko Zombie Vulcans. Okay, after the first few attacks, I have the picture – creepy place, Vulcans going psycho, must shoot them down. But then it just continued and continued and continued. Towards the end, every time there was another batch of zombie Vulcans coming at them, I was just thinking, “Can we get **on** with it please?” It was the same “attack” every time – they could have recycled the footage of the first one. Even if a zombie Vulcan had a Snot Shrapnel Bomb, that would have been _something_ different.

As for the naked-T’Pol-panda-under-the-sheets bit… gosh, I must admit that I didn’t even notice.

* * *

**Corner Case** - were you really clueless on the “fairy cake”? I mean _really_ really??? Considering that it was posted in response to _your_ previous post… Ah, well… Don’t Panic.

My wife asked me somewhere in the middle of the episode: “What do you guys call it when this show displays a lot of skin?” I said: “Well, I call it cheap and stupid, but on the Dope, we call it ‘panda.’” She said: “Yeah, that’s what I was thinking of.” So at the end of the episode, when T’Pol was lying in the bed with the blanket up to her collarbone, showing her bare shoulders as a suggestion that _maybe-just-maybe_ she’s naked underneath the blanket, my wife asked, “Is that panda?” I said: “Eh, sort of, not really.” But then T’Pol sat up, and the camera moved down for a nice view of her totally bare back, and my wife and I said, basically in unison, “Now _that’s_ panda.”

Bah humbug. I don’t believe it. Just because the Bussard collectors on the Enterprise-D are located at the same place as the little red caps on the nacelles doesn’t mean that the little red caps **are** Bussard collectors. If the ST:TNG tech manual doesn’t say the shuttles have Bussard collectors explicitly, I ain’t believin’ it.

And again, even if they were, a failed Bussard collector _wouldn’t cause one of their freakin’ thrusters to quit!_

By the time I see zombie Vulcans, all you guys will be talking about panda or something. I’m thoroughly enjoying this new season, inconsistancies and all, but hating the fact that I can’t really contribute.

And, **tracer** , I tacitally agreed to your point about the intake manifold. Notice the only thing I replied to in your last post were the comments concerning the Bussard Collectors. ;j

Even if it’s not policy to have only one out at a time, you’d think it would be a good idea to ensure that the second shuttle is available for a potential rescue when shuttle one is out in a dangerous situation. This episode proved it – with Cap’n needing rescue, and shuttle two under repair.
> D’oh!!!

One of the defining characteristics of the whole series (at least it was in material released before the series began) was that we would get to see firsthand the events that led to the Star Trek protocols we see in the other series. (How do you pluralize series?)

Because of Kirk, we’ll never get to see the “fateful away mission” that led to the protocol preventing captains from leading away missions. (At least, not on Enterprise.)

I’m still waiting for the season-long arc (possibly 2 seasons) showing us the “disastrous effects of first contact with the Klingons, which led us to adopt the prime directive.” - Picard.

I’m still pissed at the annoying tease in this direction from the pilot, and the far-too-much-contact Archer has already had with the Klingons. I naively expected the entire series to address this, and originally expected the arcs to be:

Season 1: Meet Klingons: things go very badly
Season 2: Full on war: think Yesterday’s Enterprise
Season 3: Peace is reached; prime directive adopted; other pointless stuff, much like the entire series to date

How much better would that have been? Who doesn’t like Klingons?

And how is the Klingon war believable at all now, considering that the High Council has already met humans?

Argh!!!

Yep That was Panda. This episode had such a short bit of it I almost forgot about it.
Now that I have some more distance I realize that Monstre and Crevaise are right about the too much running and jumping. Let’s face it this is what Enterprise believes is Dramatic action.

At least this doesn’t involve someone boarding the Enterprise and having a running battle down the coridors which has become the plot equivilant of “the potential Warp core breech” of STNG or “Transporter failure” of TOS. We’ve had 4 episodes and half of them had the Enterprise boarded.

There should be a BERB (Boarding Enterprise Running Battle) count this season. Anyone want to bet how manty times this will happen?

Nope, that’s the Panda-sizer. Shift makes Hoshi’s top fall off. Shift+F5 make T-Pol’s top fall off. Ctrl+Shift+F7 starts an unnecessary Decon chamber scene. Ctrl+Shift+F8 starts hot alien sex action. Ctrl+Shift+F8+Backspace+Delete+G+} causes Mayweather to get a line of dialogue.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete causes the EPS conduits to explode randomly in a shower of sparks!

What key combos have I forgotten?

Yeah, but come on. The prime directive is light years _snort_ away from common sense stuff like not taking _both_ shuttles out at the same time when it’s not necessary.

The plural of series is series. Check your dictionary.

> [@](#):

> Usage Note: Series is both a singular and a plural form. When it has the singular sense of “one set,” it takes a singular verb, even when series is followed by of and a plural noun: _A series of lectures is scheduled_. When it has the plural sense of “two or more sets,” it takes a plural verb: _Two series of lectures are scheduled: one for experts and one for laypeople._

One question: cant they put the Trellium-D on the **outside** of the ship, protecting it from anomolies, but also not harming T’Pol since she isn’t in contact with the T-D because there is a bunch of hull in the way. (Is it T-D vapors of T-D dust that is a toxin? either way she’s safe)
