I’ve got Egoyan’s _Ararat_, Lapine’s _Impromptu_, and the Oscar-winning documentary from last year _Murder on a Sunday Morning_ sitting on my TiVo waiting for me to get to them (I’m also rehearsing a play, so my time is limited). So yeah, if I can watch all of those, I can make time for _Passion of the Christ._ Like **Aesiron** , I’m an atheist, but I don’t dismiss faith; instead, I’m utterly fascinated by it, in a clinical, anthropological sort of way. Besides, it’ll be one of those movies every self-respecting film buff has to be able to say they’ve seen, somewhere in the bizarre netherworld between _Citizen Kane_ and _Caligula._ ---

Using my atheism as a reason not to see the movie wasn’t the best way to put it, really. What I should have said is that I’m apathetic towards any retellings of the story of Christ, even from a historical standpoint. My atheism might have a little to do with it, sure, but it’s not the overriding factor in it. The story just bores me. The resurrection of Ben Sisko, on the other hand, is something I look forward to, assuming the asshats in power ever allow it to be put to film. All hail the Emissary. ---

UPN preempted _Enterprise_ for an infomercial and a Maveriks games. And yes they didn’t promote _Enterprise_ in any way. At $5M an episode, you’d think they’ld want to put some effort into generating revenue. Reviewing _Twilight_ I noticed a running point of dissatisfaction. Take the final scene when Archer wakes up after the Reset. [Archer] I feel like a shuttlepod landed on my head [/Archer]. He sits up with a grimace, but from then on there is NOTHING in his acting that indicates he has a concussion. He doesn’t massage his head, he doesn’t wince or squint while moving or talking. He even lays back down and props himself up all with no sign of trauma. The actors don’t seem to do any more than the script specifically calls for. I like some of Trip’s mugging, like when the Andorian and Reed are meeting and Trip pops a chip in his mouth and says slyly, “I’ll leave you to to get acquainted.” It’s the actor imbuing some character into the character. I think that’s why we like Trip most, because Trinneer gives his character some depth. Is it the tight shooting schedule that gives them little time to learn more dialogue? Are there too few writers to generate enough dialogue each week? Is post-production swamped so they have to make things easier? Do the directors just want separate monologues so it’s easier to stage the camera angles? > [@](#): > > No, no, wait until Jolene finishes her line. THEN you say yours. It just seems like everyone is reigned in so tightly to hit the mark, say the lines, and get on to the next thing, that no one has time to create a character. Whew, with the warning about the pic not being safe at work, and the fact that I could only see a half naked ripped guy from the waste up, and the fact that he seems to be staring and have his hands down staring at whatever he seemed to be holding, I am sure glad that its a guy standing on a pile of bodies. ---
