In my neverending quest to annoy **cplant** , I decided to once again start an Enterprise thread, making this the third week in a row where he’s been robbed of his status as the de facto Enterprise Thread Starter. 😃 Synopsis from [startrek.com](http://startrek.com): When Enterprise stumbles upon a damaged Xindi-Insectoid ship on a barren planet, Archer and the crew search the ship and discover a cache of several dozen Insectoid eggs, but with the nursery’s bio-support failing, Archer becomes fiercely determined to help his enemy’s offspring hatch. As Mayweather and Tucker attempt to learn all they can about the alien ship, Archer becomes consumed with saving the Xindi hatchlings, causing the crew to start raising questions about Archer’s judgment. Synopsis of DS9’s third season “The Abandoned” from [startrek.com](http://startrek.com): A Boslic Captain talks Quark into purchasing the wreckage of a ship that crashed in the Gamma Quadrant. Unfortunately, he ends up with much more than he bargained for when he finds a newborn alien infant hidden inside … Bashir notices that the baby has a phenomenal metabolic rate, and the child develops so rapidly that he changes from an infant to what looks like an eight-year-old boy in a few hours … While the boy is no more than two weeks old genetically, he is already able to speak. Bashir soon determines that his advanced skills are artificially implanted as the result of genetic engineering. The crew quickly sees what kind of alien he is when the boy matures again — into a violent, teenaged Jem’Hadar… It was a good series and episode to rip off but, really, can’t they think of anything original? I find it interesting (and a tad bit funny) that they copied DS9 though. I’m pretty sure I’ve read that Bermaga have huge chips on their shoulders about the show and I love that they’re having to take stories from it. Oh, and : Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi, Hoshi. ---

The Trek Doper bylaws clearly state that no spoiler thread shall be started sooner than 36 hours before Lord High Mighty NoClueBoy gets his panties unbunched. But… it also states that no sentient plants shall watch Canadian sattelite TV in Arkansas either. So… Even a stolen plot can make a good ep, if they do it right. I’m going to boil a bunch of eggs to eat during the episode. ---

Ira Steven Behr, Ronald D. Moore, and Rick Berman were the executive producers of Deep Space Nine, (the former two joining DS9 in season three, when it first started showing promise. Coincidence?) not Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, who have produced Voyager and Enterprise, the two red headed stepchildren, so to speak, of the franchise. I don’t have any cites handy for the supposed feuding going on but I do remember reading somewhere that Bermaga (I think it’s Braga in particular… after all, Berman was on the show himself) don’t especially like DS9, don’t consider it true Star Trek, and have even at one point said that they wouldn’t use DS9’s ideas if they could help it. It seems silly at first but when you think about all the cameos done by TNG and VOY characters and plot devices and the relative scarcity of those from DS9, it makes it look a little more compelling. ---

Many things confuse me, including [cows](http://www.rathergood.com/zoology/). But the most confusing thing of all is how **Carnivorousplant** can see ENT on Tuesday via Canadian Sattelite TV, while **Wearia** , who _is_ Canadian (unless he’s lying) can’t. ---
