I bet at the end of the season it turns out the Xindi planet was not destroyed by Earth, but by the Planet Urf.

I refuse to believe the kept Travis but ditched Porthos- it is clear who the better actor is.

Maybe they should make him Helmspet.

Archer: Ensign Porthos, lay in a course for Planet Nogoodnick 7, Warp 4.
Ensign Porthos: Woof!

See, still better then Travis!

How’s this for a spine-tingling loophole: Lt. John Kelly, according to _Voyager_, disappeared into a subspace anomaly in 2032, 120 years before _Enterprise_’s encounter with the debris field. Otherwise, it’s going to have to be a pretty COCKADOODIE convenient and distressing time-travel subplot. \<groan\> Of course, we also know about the Nexus, which explains just about everything…

Either that or they picked up a transmission of _Men in Black_ and got confused. 🙂

I didn’t hate the episode [this much](http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=16072), but it’s an entertaining read nonetheless.

As a diehard DS9 fan who ABHORRED Voyager and everything the Braga brigade has done to Trek, and was woefully disappointed with the “more of the same” they offered for Enterprise’s first season, I must admit:

I enjoyed last night’s episode. I might damn well become a viewer again. The alien elements were so “earthy” (no pun intended), cliched though they undeniably were, that it felt like the best parts of DS9.

Well, not the BEST part, seeing as this show still lacks good characters and dialogue. But at least it had _atmosphere_. (Pun intended.)

Greetings to **tarragon918** (Happy upcoming birthday!) and hey, **ChuckForbin** , good to see you again.

**Aes** , I will send tape this weekend. It has Jake 2.0 as well and some other stuff, so it’s mostly full.
Oh, I loved Young/Older Trip’s funky shirt.

I think you’re forgetting that the pilot of the attack ship was the reptilian species of Xindi, not the insectiod one. I’m still not convinced that that bug is even Xindi, though.

Okay, so a few people have said Enterprise now has a gritty DS9 feel to it… or, at least, this episode did. Everyone agree with that? If so, score!

And thanks, **viva**. I like stuff.

I wish the series had started out more like this. It was nice to see some serious butt kicking and less of the “above it all” attitude that was prevelant in the Next Generation. If it keeps this level up and increases it, it could be the best of the ST shows. Although I think B&B have damaged the franchise a lot (for me) this could redeem them somewhat. Finally, where in the heck is Kn\*ckers!!

You’re right – I was forgetting about that detail – the probe pilot was the reptilian one. Although I think by this time the different species of Xindi were probably working together. I would still venture to guess that the bug will be one of those 5 species, and quite likely the species that is the primary aggressor or instigator in the whole thing.

**Aes** : I mailed the tape this evening. I think there’s an X Files at the end of it, and who knows what else in the middle.

**Zap** : **Kn\*ckers** left her crappy job behind and also the computer she used to post here, but we have informed her that there are many other computers in Mass. Let’s hope she gets back in contact with us soon.

I certainly liked it…Purely insectisoid aliens? Excellent! Starfleet commandos? Ever BETTER!

It’s sure nice to see some starfleet personell with decent combat skills…and decent weaponry—I’ve been saying it for years, either use phaser rifles that have a decent rate of fire, or let them be set to _wide-field_.

Plus, the neck-breaking. Gotta love that.

And, I admit that I only remembered to tune about halfway through the episode, so I have to ask…did they actually call the starfleet troops “Marines,” or did they make up some lame name for them?

But I still want to see a torrid love affair, and some nuclear warheads.

I saw that, it sounded to me like that terrible movie with George Takai that was the western in space. Except they added some race aspect.

Auuuuuuugggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Pre-space-era humans abducted by aliens, taken away and forming a colony elsewhere? Gosh, what an original _coff_ Amelia idea _coff_ Earhart. Did they at least get anal probes?

If it’s a western episode, perhaps we’ll get a shootout at the Sort Of Acceptable Corral?

[singing]
I shot the captain…
But I did not shoot the admiral…
