I suggest the mods move the thread in question to Marketplace, or better yet The Barn House. That way those forums get some traffic and the snarkers won’t have to see the minutia that passes for topics in Cafe Society. ---

**Honey** PMed me about a week ago saying that she and some other posters at another board were looking for a new online home for snarking about the shopping channels, could they come here? I said yes, of course, and apparently they have – and they’re completely welcome. We need more new members, not fewer. No, I didn’t go into the thread to proffer an official SDMB greeting – frankly, it didn’t occur to me to, I generally don’t. When I posted in the thread for the first time a few minutes ago, in response to a flurry of reports about people using the “C” word," I welcomed them, reminded them they’re subject to both board rules and board culture, and told them I hoped they’d find other threads to participate in. ---

As **twickster** said, they are more than welcome here and we are glad to have them as new members. I would also think that members of some sort of snark forum would recognize the joking nature of the negative “welcoming” comments in this thread. 😃 Just one thing that I think needs to be said, though. While a little venting about their former board is probably ok, we don’t want to encourage board wars, so make sure it doesn’t rise to the level of that. Otherwise, snark away! And welcome to the SDMB! ---
