Eonwe's guitar build

Oh, you’ll probably see more build threads, if not from me then from Wordman. It’s quite an addicting hobby and once you do one, you never stop…

Thanks for the comments. The gritty feel is kind of what I’m going for. I’ve seen so many people with “pretty” guitars and when you ask them where their #1 is, they point over in the corner to some old, beat up twanger that doesn’t look too great but sounds amazing to them.

The pretty ones are for collectors. I want to make someone’s #1

For the next one though, I’m going to try and do both. A friend of mine at work is commissioning from me a cross between a Tele and a Les Paul with a carved quilted maple top died purple. It’ll be an interesting project since I’ve never carved out a top before…

Tell me about it. I’ve started a pine telecaster build, which is my first ever, and I’m already thinking about what to build next with the templates I’ve made in order to make this first one. In actuallity, I somewhat blame WordMan for unveiling the fact that you don’t have to be a luthier to build a guitar. Curse you.

 my work here is done!

Where’s the pics, punk??:D:D

I just picked up the guitar from UPS at lunch. It is indeed a beautiful guitar, and plays very well (though all I’ve really had time to do so far is plug it in and give it a short test to make sure it survived transport).

Sometime in the next week or two I’ll put a review up, but I thought I’d let people know that the Eagle has landed.

Roger Columbia,

That’s one small chord for Man, one giant riff for Mankind - rock on.

And remember, you promised you’d dedicate your first clam on that bad boy to me!!

Oh - and obvious question: Are you a guitar namer? May I suggest, with wry grin, the Dope-caster?

I was always kind of partial to “Steve”…

So, given its been a couple of weeks, can we pretty please get a full report from Eonwe on the strengths, limitations, awesome/less awesome feel of this instrument? Did I say pretty please?

Seconded!

Pretty please?
