He wasn’t directly connected to Bridgegate and there isn’t a pattern of behavior. Christie hasn’t gone on TV several times with the “I didn’t know” defense, unlike some leaders we won’t mention.

No, it’s not. It’s only in the Obama era that this suddenly went from fairly important to crucial in the eyes of some. Mainly Obama supporters. As GWB showed, a President doesn’t even have to have a grade school level grasp of grammar, and Jindal vastly exceeds that threshold.

No, GWB didn’t prove anything about what would make a _good_ president.
And if you think the ability to confidently and consistently be able to use speech as a persuasive tool isn’t something that is required in a competent leader, then I can only hope you are on the selection committee for the Pubbies.

I’m probably going to show massive ignorance of US Congressional history here, but wasn’t there there a Republican majority Congress during their respective presidencies and wouldn’t that kinda make it just a tad harder for a Democrat to get stuff through than a Republican?

Republicans controlled the House 6 out of 8 years under Bush. They controlled the Senate 4.5 years.
Democrats controlled the House 2 years out of 8 under Obama. They controlled the Senate 6 years.

Ignored the comment about approval ratings in the mid-30s, eh?
Jindal can run… but would he win the primary in his own state?
ETA: I also love how “making speeches” was viewed by Republicans as a really great thing when Reagan was in office, then it turned into an overblown non-issue when Bush II was in office, now making speeches is a BAD BAD BAD thing with Obama in the Oval Office. Telepromter - hurr hurr!
