# Equal rights for condiments and cutlery

I am very glad to read that Cecil supports [equal marriage rights for condiments and cutlery](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/080725.html).
I can only hope that among his silverware there are no pairs of [wiseacre straight fish forks](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/000128.html) who decide to waltz into city hall and demand a marriage license.

There’s a great way for them to avoid saying that: if those wiseacre straight roommates aren’t the same sex, city hall won’t ask them to get it on before getting a license. The problem is imminently superable: solve it the same way for SS roommates as you would for OS roommates.
