Who was that guy, anyway? I missed bits and pieces of last night’s episode.
That would be Ray’s buddy from the band. He had been spending a lot of time sleeping on their couch and hanging around their apartment, and Ray was hopeful that they would hit it off.

Crap … I must be missing more info than I thought. I only missed maybe two episodes.
Who’s Ray? Is that Shane Wiest (sp?)? And Neela lives with this Ray? Platonic roommates, one assumes?
Please fill me in, so I can understand the rest of the season. TIA.
Ray is another resident, a little more self-confident than Neela, plays in a rock band, was living on the roof at County in the summer. He and Neela are barely platonic roommates, she needed a place to stay, they agreed to take opposite shifts (day vs night) so they wouldn’t see much of each other. Ray always has his band over there, practicing, partying, or crashing.
And to date, “Dr.” is his first name. Nobody’s addressed him otherwise yet.
Surely his first name was mentioned during the storyline where Lizzie got written off? (AIDS organ donation?)
I was amazingly uninvested in this episode, though I really dig Neela and was very into her screen time. I thought I cared about Gallant, at least a little, but I guess I don’t.
It’s not the fact that it was outside the hospital. I dug Benton’s working in the poor south episode, Greene croaking in Hawaii, and Abby’s mom in Oregon episode. Could it be that the writing wasn’t as good this time around?
Maybe the next episode will change my mind.
On second thought, maybe last week’s trailer for this episode just pissed me off so much that I couldn’t like the war scenes.
